1965, October 15 (to January 14, 1966)
Origininally, 25 persons had been called to testify at the Grand Jury ατ Fort Dodge, Iowa, among them noted personalities of nudism.
Milton Luros, a Los-Angeles media magnate, four of his companies (Parliament News, Inc; London Press, Inc.; Sun Era, Inc. and American Art Agency) and 11 other persons stand trial at Sioux Falls, Iowa, for allegedly sending obscene material through the mail. Luros is acquitted on appeal on 4/11/1966 and all charges dropped. However, his publications, Utopia and Urban Nudist, do not get second-class permit.

1968, November 17
Establishment of Dansk Naturist Union (DNU)

1969, December
ASA releases its 121/4-minute 16mm colour/sound motion picture "The Take-Off".

1970, March 21
ASA relocates to Orlando, Florida; the office in Mays Landing closes down.

1970, April 4
ASA terminates the contract signed with Elysium, Inc. regarding its official journal Nudism Today. Issue 36 is the last to carry the official seal of the association.

1972, June 13
The State of California Supreme Court rules in a landmark decision that nude bathing per se at public beaches can no longer be prosecuted as "indecent exposure" as defined by section 314 of the State of California Penal Code.

1972, November 13
Registration of the name "Beachfront USA" with the County Clerk of Los Angeles.

1973, June 10
Eugene Philip Callen presents his lecture, "The Future of Nude Beaches in America", to nude bathers at Pirate's Cove, Malibu, Calif.

1973, October 15
Founding meeting of "Beachfront USA" and formation of a preliminary Beachfront Board of Directors. A well-attended meeting by about 50 persons.

1973, December 17
Anti-nudity ordinance bans nude bathing in Marin county on every inch of the Santa Barbara extensive coastline.

1974, July 18
The Los Angeles City Council enacts a brand new city ordinance making partial and total nudity in public a crime.

1975, March 6
"Beachfront USA" receives its long-overdue incorporation status.

1975, March 10
Nudity is banned on Brush Hollow Beach at Cape Cod National Seashore, Mass. This popular beach received 4,000 visitors in the summer of 1975, while 3,000 or so attended the National Nude Beach Day on August 14, 1976.

1975, May 3
Cec Cinder is elected second President of "Beachfront USA" after the resignation of Eugene Philip Callen.

1975, May 21
The Laguna Beach Council passes an anti-nudity ordinance on city beaches.

1975, August 23
2,000 nudists demonstrate au naturel at Truro's Brush Hollow Beach at Cape Cod National Seashore, Mass. The demonstration is organized by Lee Baxandall and his "Free the Free Beach Committee".

1975, December 17
The California Supreme Court denies the BFUSA petition for a hearing in its case against the Los Angeles City Council's 1974 anti-nudity ordinance.

1976, January 22
The San Diego City Council by a vote of 5-4 retains the official "swimsuit optional" status at Black's Beach, reconfirming once more the city ordinance of May, 1974.

1976, May 18
Lee Baxandall, co-ordinator of the Free Beaches Documentation Center, is a special guest and speaker at the annual Beachfront USA meeting in Los Angeles, Calif.

1976, June 10
On Cec Cinder's resignation from BFUSA presidency, John A. Eckl becomes the new president.

1976, August 8
The first National Nude Beach Day is celebrated in the USA.

1977, May 29
A record number of 43,500 nudists attend the third anniversary of Black's Beach existence as America's only legal free beach.

1978, January 20
Eugene Philip Callen, founder and first president of Beachfront USA dies at the age of 65.

1980, October 16
The California Coastal Commission voted 9-1 to close the favorite Malibu beach at Pirate's Cove to give sea lions a chance to use the beach. Freebeachers lose another beach this time to sea lions!

1980, October 24-26
The First Leadership Conference of "The Naturists" is organized on the grounds of Elysium Institute, in the hills of Topanga Canyon near Los Angeles, Calif. 28 plus activists and nudist leaders from all over the States attend it.

1982, January 29
Massive slide blocks the popular Broadway Trail to the Black's Beach.

1982, November 21
The United Free Beaches of Florida organization is born at Cypress Cove Nudist Resort, Kissimmee, Fla.
